Australian exhibits showcase crocodiles, fruit bats, snapping turtles and venomous snakes, while the tropical rain forest habitat houses sloths, tamarins, tarantulas and a variety of colorful birds. The 80,000-square-foot facility opened in 1998 and features permanent exhibits like Adventure Expeditions, where kids travel back to Egypt circa 1920, and KidWorks, a three-story “urban treehouse” meant for climbing, crawling, jumping and sliding.
