January Events in Downtown Baltimore: Martin Luther King, Jr. Events & Thomas the Train at Port Discovery
Next weekend is a long one in Baltimore, with schools and many offices closed on Monday, and an even longer one in Baltimore County, where schools are closed on Tuesday, as well.
It’s also an eventful and thoughtful weekend. On Monday, January 16, the city of Baltimore will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with several events, including a parade, now in its 17th year.
The parade begins at noon, starting at the intersection of MLK Boulevard and Eutaw Street. It will then head south on MLK and disband at Baltimore Street. Line up anywhere along the route; the best show (and biggest crowds) might be near the reviewing stand, located at MLK and Franklin.
Get to Know the Animals at the National Aquarium’s Animal Encounters Events
What does an eastern box turtle eat? What’s the difference between an Australian python and one that lives in Africa? What is a hyacinth macaw? A fish? A bird? The name of the newest Kardashian baby?
These questions – and more – are the types of things answered during the National Aquarium in Baltimore’s Animal Encounters events.
2015 Year in Review! Celebrating 10 Years!
Before we embark on new adventures in 2016, we pause and take a moment to reflect on all of the rewarding experiences we have had in the past year. It certainly has been an amazing and memorable 10th Anniversary Year!
Looking back, we wanted to highlight some of our favorite Miss Shirley’s moments of 2015, because above all, we have YOU, our wonderful guests, to thank for another incredible year.
Miss Shirley’s Cafe is celebrating the 10 Year Anniversary of our original location in Roland Park, which is why we are #ShirleysGiving back to the community that has supported us for the last decade!
As part of our “10 Months of Shirley’s Giving” Charitable Campaign, for the Holiday Season, Miss Shirley’s sponsored, designed & purchased a 7.5′ 10 Year Anniversary-Inspired Tree, which was displayed at Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Festival of Trees from November 27-29th.
