The sound of the ‘90s crashes into Baltimore later this month when a trio of successful, grungy acts come to Pier Six Pavilion. Our Lady Peace, Tonic and headliners Collective Soul will perform at the waterside venue on Wednesday, June 28.
All three acts will arrive in Baltimore with serious pedigrees – and lots of hits – under their belts.
Last year, Tonic, a band out of Los Angeles, recently celebrated the twentieth anniversary its debut album, Lemon Parade, which was released in 1996. The album was most known for the single “If You Could Only See,” a tune that still gets plenty of radio play.
Adams is most famous for hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s, including classics like “Summer of ‘69” and “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You,” from Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood film. During his career, he’s sold over 100 million records. He’s been nominated for 15 Grammy Awards, 5 Golden Globe Awards and 3 Academy Awards, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has received numerous accolades and awards in his native Canada.
On Saturday, June 3, the SoSoSUMMER 17 tour will roll through Baltimore, stopping at for one night at Pier Six Pavilion.
The tour, which features artists from the Lifetime reality show “The Rap Game,” is presented by Jermaine Dupri, who created the show with Queen Latifah.
Dupri has been heavily involved in The Rap Game since its debut on New Year’s Day 2016. But long before that, he was involved in the music industry. He might not have the most famous name in the hip-hop business – but that’s only because he stays slightly behind the scenes, finding stars, collaborating with them and letting them shine.

As we settle down, following a fourth of July full of celebrations of the birth of the #Murica we all know and love, we’ve been alternately entertained and shocked by everything from the Clinton FBI probe outcome to the announcement that Kevin Durant will head to the Golden State Warriors.
Closer to home, those in the Baltimore area have recently been treated to the news that’s less dramatic than #1776Trump or anything President Obama has to say – but it’s still worthy of fireworks. The National Aquarium in Baltimore announced that it will create a dolphin sanctuary – the first in North America – in an effort to care for and also study dolphins in a protected version of their natural habitat.
What a wild, wacky week it has been as we smash into the first days of summer! The news cycle is in overdrive as tornados are touching down in Hartford County, and no sooner does LeBron James heft the NBA Trophy in one hand, then he resumes battling with his critics on Twitter with his smartphone in the other. It appears that the social manager turned press secretary Hope Hicks is as skillful as Tyrion Lannister on advising would be kings playing the Game of Thrones. And heads have indeed been rolling from Ramsey Bolton finally getting his much-deserved comeuppance to Corey Lewandowski hearing Trump’s famous words, “You’re fired!” Has the world turned upside down, or do we simply need to escape the hungry hounds of Bolton that epitomize the ravenous 24-hour news cycle?!
