‘90s Favorite the Goo Goo Dolls Slide into Pier Six Pavilion August 22, with Opening Act Phillip Phillips
Baltimore concert lovers have a lot to look forward to on Tuesday, August 22, when the Goo Goo Dolls and Phillip Phillips come to Pier Six Pavilion.
The acts come from two different generations – the Goo Goo Dolls were ‘90s chart-topping favorites while Phillip Phillips, who was born in 1990, rose to fame after winning American Idol in 2012. But their big songs, including “Slide” from the Goo Goo Dolls and “Home” from Phillips, are equally recognizable to people listening to the radio today.

Who’s up for a party, Italian-style? This weekend, Baltimore’s Little Italy lights up and gets festive, celebrating the Feast of St. Gabriele with food, music, games, vino and more.
The party takes place from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 18 and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 19 at the intersection of High and Stiles Streets in Little Italy. The festival is a fundraiser for St. Leo the Great Church – admission is a $1 donation.
At 8 p.m. on July 29, Pier Six Pavilion will be the place to be in Baltimore for fans of Robert Sylvester Kelly, otherwise known as R. Kelly.
A Chicago native, R. Kelly rose to fame during the ‘90s, gaining popularity for his seductive combination of R&B, hip hop and soul. His career launched in 1989 when he competed the aptly named talent TV show Big Break, ultimately winning the competition (and $100,000).
It’s summertime in the city – and that means tons of fun activities for locals and visitors of all ages. From outdoor movies to family-friendly museum exhibits to evening booze cruises, here’s a look at some of the best activities downtown Baltimore has to offer this summer:
Catch a Flick
On Fridays during July or August, the Open Air Film Festival descends upon Little Italy. The films, which are screened on the side of Ciao Bella Restaurant, include classics with an Italian twist, like The Godfather and the original Ocean’s Eleven. Get there early, with chairs, to grab a good spot (and some great carry-out to enjoy).
