This Weekend -Virtual Youth Art Month Workshop with Artist Kelsey Joyce


Get creative with Port Discovery and Maryland Artists virtually during Youth Art Month!

Join Port Discovery all March long as we celebrate Youth Art Month with exclusive virtual workshops, performances, and more, all leading up to Puppet Powered Weekend happening Saturday, March 20th & Sunday, March 21st!

This Saturday, March 6: Matisse Paper Cut-out Collages

Embark on an exciting virtual journey through the world of art! Join professional teaching artist Kelsey Joyce for an online class focused on how French Artist Henri Matisse used paper and scissors to create his own unique style of art.

We will be creating our own paper collages inspired by Matisse’s and his technique of using “Scissors as Paintbrush”. Kiddos will also learn about organic and geometric shapes, positive and negative space, and how to create their own stories through composition.

We’re just a few days away from Diane Macklin, Storyteller’s final Discovery Stage Series performance, Riddle Me This! Don’t miss this free, virtual performance that gets kiddos in on the theater fun while at home.
