Last year, local Baltimoreans who weren’t able to make it to Washington, D.C. for the National Women’s March organized a march of their own in Baltimore. With about 5,000 marchers in attendance, it far exceeded expectations and the energy was palpable.

This year, the Baltimore Women’s March is back; it will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Baltimore.

About the March img-3

This year’s march, which has the theme “March Forward,” will start at the War Memorial Plaza, where a rally will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. featuring a variety of speakers, including federal, state and local elected officials and community activists and civic leaders.

Following the rally portion of the event, the group will march from the war memorial to McKeldin Square in the Inner Harbor.

Permits are pending for both the rally and the march, so be sure to continue to check the march’s official website. In addition, organizers ask that you RSVP to the march’s EventBrite page. Though there is no charge for attending the march, they would like to get a sense of the likely size of the crowd for crowd control purposes.

Where to Park img-5

With a healthy crowd expected at the march, it is important to plan ahead for smart, convenient parking.

Harbor Park Garage, located at 55 Market Place, is just a short walk from the march location and is easily accessible from major routes and out of downtown Baltimore, including I-83. Harbor Park’s owners are working with the organizers of the march and will offer $5 parking for march participants.

The garage is also working with SpotHero, which allows you to reserve and pre-pay for a spot. For the march, SpotHero users will be able to use the service without any additional surcharge. Follow this link to prepay your discounted parking at $5 for the event – https://goo.gl/Tpe4YT.

Once you arrive at the garage, if you have any questions about where to go or how to get there, Harbor Park staff will be happy to point you in the right direction and answer your questions.
