Join us on Saturday, March 4th and take part in yoga for kids, learn about health and wellness with the UMBC Health Fair, and get Kinderfit! with the Kindersinger! Also learn about asthma with hands on activities from the Johns Hopkins University Asthma Study, visit with service dogs from FIDOS for Freedom, enjoy fun family art projects, and more!
Little’s Day

Toddlers, jump for joy! Port Discovery has a day just for you! Join us on Little’s Dayon Saturday, March 11 and enjoy activities that are designed especially for children 5 and younger. We’ll do yoga, sing and dance along with the Kindersinger, make family art projects, and transform into a magical character with face painting fun! Children can even become part of the limited-time only play The Little Engine that Could by Watty Piper, performed at Port Discovery with special permission from Penguin Random House. Don’t miss this wonderful event!
Target $2 Family Fun Night

No need to be lucky…or Irish…to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a great deal at Port Discovery! We’ll be open late on Friday, March 17 and offering $2 admission from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part of our monthly Target $2 Family Fun Night! Climb aboard the Thomas & Friends(TM): Explore the Rails! exhibit while it’s still here. See if you’re lucky enough to reach the top of KidWorks. Check out Kick It Up, Tiny’s Diner, Miss Perception’s Mystery House and our other hands-on, interactive exhibits! This event is generously sponsored by Target, allowing visitors to get in for just $2 each (that’s a discount of more than $12 a person off of Port Discovery’s normal admission!).

Fans of Thomas the Tank Engine won’t want to miss Port Discovery’s special Thomas & FriendsTM Day in celebration of the Thomas & Friends™: Explore the Rails exhibit! Make Thomas the Train magnets, abstract train artwork, and train totes. Have fun with pop-up science projects that explore the science behind trains, simple machines, and engineering through interactive demonstrations and experiments. Also enjoy live music from our roaming musician, Mr. Norman. Plus, get kids involved in a play they can star in with our limited-time only play The Little Engine that Could by Watty Piper, performed at Port Discovery with special permission from Penguin Random House.

Go Wild at Port Discovery! If your little ones are curious about wildlife, nature, and the great outdoors, Going Wild Weekend events are sure to make their eyes sparkle with curiosity and joy! Wildlife Adventures will be on hand all weekend long providing programs all about wildlife! Interact with live animals, learn about wildlife with fun programs like Living WILD, Wild Tales and UnWrap, UnRoll and UnWind, and enjoy animal-themed art projects where you can create Fire Breathing Dragons and Going Wild Masks! Plus, take part in interactive plays and theater performances.

Thomas & Friends(TM) fans can climb aboard Thomas’ cab, fix wobbly wheels, pull levers, dress as a train conductor and more. Don’t miss the huge train table where you can build train tracks and play with friends new and old. This hands-on exhibit lets children’s imaginations go wild!
Featuring the favorite engines and destinations from Thomas & Friends™, the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) focused exhibit seeks to engage children, ages 2 through 7 years, in foundational skills that foster STEM literacy through playful learning experiences. The exhibit encourages making comparisons, experimenting to solve problems using a variety of methods and tools, and thinking creatively.
