Stock up on wet wipes and start steeling your stomach for a heavy dose of heat: the Baltimore Wing & Chicken Festival comes to Power Plant Live! on Saturday, March 21, 2020. The festival, which starts at 2 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m., will feature tons of food and drinks (not just chicken!), live entertainment, games and a whole lot more.
All the Food
The food, of course, is the main attraction – and it’s more than just chicken, though there will certainly be a lot of that. The festival will feature over 60 types of chicken wings plus other chicken dishes like sandwiches (grilled and fried), chicken and waffles, chicken empanadas, chicken tacos and more.
In all, there will be over 20 chicken-related vendors, plus over 10 vendors dedicated to mac and cheese. You’ll also find French fries – including a cheese fry bar – and for drinks, a Bloody Mary bar and a craft beer garden, along with other beverage stations serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
And for your sweet tooth, vendors will be on hand serving goodies like ice cream, cotton candy and funnel cakes.
Competition
Eating won’t be just a passive activity, either. Those who are up for it can enter hot wing or French fry eating contests.
Plus, there will be voting to determine Baltimore’s best wings. Awards will be offered in four categories: Best Mild, Best Sweet/BBQ, Best Tasting Hot Wings and Best Unique Wings.

Other Attractions
The food is only one part of the fun at the Wing Festival. There will be a Kids Fun Zone with bounce houses, face painters and other family-friendly activities, carnival games, a Baggo tournament and other tailgating games, and the ability to shop from a wide variety of vendors.
Plus, there will be live entertainment – and entrance to the festival also means you can drop into any of the Power Plant venues.
Chicken Bucks
The festival will feature lots of vendors and stations offering food and beverages, all of which will operate on a special currency for the day: the “Chicken Buck.” Chicken Buck purchase stations will be located throughout the festival, so it will be easy to get the currency you need for all your treats.
Ticket Options
There are three different types of tickets available: VIP ($54.99), Premium ($24.99) and General Admission ($12.99) (Note: these are early bird sale prices and may increase closer to the festival date.)
VIP tickets offer noon access – a full two hours before the event is open to other ticket holders – including an open bar (beer, wine, and soda) from noon to 2 p.m. and unlimited wings and mac and cheese during that time. It also includes a French Fry Bar ticket, a commemorative wing bucket and apron, and indoor VIP-only bathrooms and bar, live entertainment and seating.
The general admission ticket includes one drink voucher (beer or non-alcoholic) and the premium ticket includes general admission plus one drink voucher, a French Fry Bar ticket and 6 Chicken Bucks.
Children 10 and under are free and do not need a ticket between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The VIP section is 21 and over only.
